We’d Like to Help
North County Medical Laboratory is an Clinical Reference Laboratory that provides laboratory services to area Physicians and Home Health Agencies. “We have been serving the laboratory needs of the greater Sebastian River area for over 4 years,” says Jim Hoopfer, Laboratory Manager and Technical Supervisor .
A Complete Menu of Laboratory Services is provided by North County Medical Laboratory. When specimens are taken at your physician’s office, couriers rapidly transport these samples to the laboratory for testing. Your physician may also provide you with paperwork to come to their office. Their Convenient Office Hours accommodate your schedule and their goal is to complete your visit in less than 20 minutes. Please contact them before you visit so they can answer any test preparation and/or insurance coverage questions you may have.
North County Medical Laboratory Participates With Most Insurance Companies and third party payers. They will bill your insurance and only bill you for co-payments and deductibles when appropriate. Their mission is to provide Low Cost, High Quality laboratory services. Their fees are among the lowest in the area. This is very helpful for patients without insurance coverage.
North County Medical Laboratory is a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) Accredited Reference Laboratory located across the street from the Sebastian River Medical Center.
Licensed Medical Technologists perform general laboratory testing under the supervision of a Board Certified Laboratory Director. Some of the laboratory tests available are;- Chemistry Health Screening: is a general blood chemistry screen. It checks for diabetes, high cholesterol, liver, kidney, thryroid, heart disease, and blood iron studies.
- CBC (Complete Blood Count): is an evaluation of anemia, leukemia, reaction to inflammation and infections.
- Lipid Panel: tests the Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL Cholesterol (good cholesterol) and calculated LDL Cholesterol (bad cholesterol). These substances are fats found in the blood. Both are associated with risk assessment for coronary arterial disease.
- PSA (Prostatic Specific Antigen): is a screening test for male prostate cancer. An elevated result may be caused by prostate cancer or other non-cancerous conditions.
- Urinalysis: in addition to evaluating basic kidney function, is utilized to screen for diabetes, liver dysfunction, urinary tract infection and general body metabolism.
