CFRE Review Course

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Indian River will offer a CFRE Review Course for those development professionals seeking the Certified Fundraising Executive credential.

The two-day course on August 8 and 9 will be facilitated by Janet Ginn, CFRE. She is a CFRE Review Course Trainer and has served on the Board of CFRE International (Vice Chair, CFRE Exam Committee Chair, CFRE Subject Matter Expert and interim CFRE President and CEO). Janet is currently President of Pines of Sarasota Foundation.

“I highly recommend any fund development professional who anticipates applying for and taking the accreditation exam within the next 12-18 months invest the time in taking this workshop,” said Bev Sanders, CFRE, Director of Gift Planning, Indian River Medical Center Foundation. “The questions assess your mastery of the overall body of knowledge required to perform fundraising strategies utilizing the best practices in the field.

The course is an invaluable preparatory tool.” The workshop will be held 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Northern Trust, 755 Beachland Blvd in Vero Beach. The registration fee is $125 and includes breakfast and lunch both days plus all course materials.

Advance registration is required; no walk-ins will be permitted.

“As our chapter’s newest CFRE, I can attest to the stringent application requirements focused on three areas: education, professional practice and professional development,” said Shannon Bowman, CFRE, Executive Director, Childcare Resources of Indian River. “You have to be approved to sit for the exam, which is 200 multiple-choice questions. And then you seek re-certification every three years through another application process. Earning this credential is a significant commitment and should not be taken lightly.” Thirteen members of the AFP Indian River Chapter are currently recognized with the CFRE credential.
