The final performance of the Eleventh Season for the Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra, An Afternoon with the Great German Composers, will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 2:00pm at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street in Vero Beach. There is no ticket required. All concerts are free to the public; donations are encouraged.

After an exciting first performance featuring a lesser-known work by Mendelssohn and an eclectic 20th Century work by American Composer Charles Ives, this second and final concert focuses more on the well-known German composers for their standard repertoire. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 is offered along with crowd-pleaser Overture to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Mendelssohn. Handel’s Water Music Suites No. 2 & No. 3 will also be part of the program.

The Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra, directed by Colbert Page Howell, was formed to provide for the cultural enrichment of Indian River County by presenting two free concerts each year. The group is composed of an assortment of local musicians, ranging from high school students to seasoned professionals.
