Art Exhibit featuring the bird paintings of Will Johnson

The Pelican Island Audubon Society and the Cultural Council of Indian River County are hosting a two-day art exhibit featuring the bird paintings of Will Johnson. The exhibit will be held at the Audubon House, 195 9th Street (Oslo Road) on Saturday, November 3 with a special "meet the artist from 10 to 11 am for the kids, and an opening reception from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit continues on Sunday, November 4 from 10 am to 4 pm.

A Local high school senior and artist, Will Johnson, is one of our best birders in Florida. Will has led specialized warbler field trips for PIAS the last few years, the latest in September at Captain Forster Hammock Preserve. Besides PIAS, Will also volunteers at the Environmental Learning Center and the Indian River Land Trust. He has worked summers with a naturalist doing field research In North Carolina along with winning numerous academic and art awards. His is in 1st place this year on eBird.org for the most species identified in Indian River County. See this young fine artist and his colorful bird art and a few other pieces at Audubon House. Free.
