Centennial Veterans Parade

Stepping off promptly at 10:00 am from Pocahontas Park, the parade will run south on 14th Avenue to 19th Street where it will turn right, entering the Vero Beach Cultural Arts Village, continuing west to the corner of 19th Street and 18th Avenue, 1735 18th Avenue, where a Centennial Ceremony recognizing 100 years of service will take place.

The parade order of march leads with the Color Guard, followed by a vehicle with Parade Marshalls and Mrs. Vero Centennial, VBHS Marching Band, Veterans Council, Veteran Organizations, Drum and Pipe Band and Civic Organizations.

Attending organizations include American Legion Post 39, American Legion Post 39 Riders (motorcycle escort), Veterans Council of Indian River County, Vietnam Veterans of 1038 Marine Corps League of Indian River County, Gold Star Mothers of Indian River County, Vero Beach Veterans Military Officers Association of America, and U.S. Army Special Forces, Chapter 28.

Also marching will be the City of Vero Beach Police Department Color Guard, Indian River County Sheriff Office Color Guard, Vero Beach High School Marching Band and Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce.

The Centennial Ceremony will include MC Phil Reid, Cultural Arts Village, keynote speaker, Colonel Tony Young, U.S. Army (ret.) and Special Guest, General Buckingham; USMC (ret.). Ceremony will close with invitation to join a Cultural Arts Village Historic Tour, “If This House Could Talk”. Snacks and refreshments will be provided by Wild Thyme Catering.
