In Vero Beach for just a few days at the end of our US visit, we discovered this little gem on google, as one does. Feeling in the mood for a little taste of France after weeks of - very tasty, but rich= american fare, we decide to book Bistro Fourchette for dinner. We discovered the restaurant tucked away in a little courtyard , very charmingly decorated as a little square in Europe, with a lovely fountain greeting us. Upon entry of the restaurant we were greeted by a cheerful hostess, and transferred to France , soft ‘ French chanson’, and tasteful table setting . The menu and specials were expertly explained by our waitress dressed totally French’s style, with a baret to top it off. And then, the food arrived. Even with expectations that were high by now, the chef Stephane delivered an exquisite experience. We opted for soups to start; the gazpacho and the pea&aspargus , both delicious, followed by mains of Filet Mignon ( steak) and French fries, and a soft shell crab ( a special) , again both cooked to perfection. The accompanying wines finished off the taste experience, ..before two beautiful desserts; the souffle Grand Marnier & chocolate mousse. We were only passing through Vero beach on this occasion, but if we would live here’s this would be one of our feed addresses. Do try it!
