Wine Women & Shoes Vero Beach

weVENTURE Women’s Business Center in the Bisk College of Business at Florida Tech has been on the frontlines of helping the local business community respond and recover to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration, weVENTURE WBC offers a wide range of programs and services to support the economic prosperity of our community through the growth of small businesses. Since 2007, this non-profit program has grown to serve over 600 clients a year, and was able to expand capacity in 2020, thanks to additional funding from the CARES Act, to meet the increased demand for their services.

Research from the National Women’s Business Council found that prior to the pandemic, woman-owned small businesses were leading job growth across the United States. And since the pandemic began in March of 2020, we have seen another spike of new entrepreneurs, as millions of American women seek opportunities to launch their own venture.

Serving clients from throughout the Space and Treasure Coasts, weVENTURE WBC offers complimentary business coaching and one-on-one counseling sessions, business education workshops, technical assistance, and networking opportunities. Their signature program, the IGNITE 360 ® business mentoring program, helps established businesses navigate change or prepare for growth.
weVENTURE WBC invites all women entrepreneurs and those just thinking about becoming entrepreneurs to explore the many programs they offer by visiting weventure.fit.edu . The website also hosts a Directory of Women-Owned Businesses, which is free to use and free to be listed. They also encourage everyone in the community to attend events and support local women-owned businesses from across the region.
Earlier this year it was announced weVENTURE WBC is the new non-profit beneficiary of the Wine Women & Shoes Vero Beach event, taking place November 18th at Sun Aviation Hangar. Presenting sponsor Dr. Alan Durkin of Ocean Drive Plastic Surgery was pleased to announce the partnership:

Proceeds from the 2021 WW&S event will allow weVENTURE WBC to expand capacity to serve more women on the Space and Treasure Coasts. The event will again feature wine tastings, a shopable multi-designer marketplace featuring local women-owned businesses, a fashion show and the chance to win jewelry and trips, including a tasting experience and stay in wine country.
