A Gift for the Future - Pelican Island Audubon Society Fundraiser

Fundraising dinner toward promoting a bond referendum on the November 2022 ballot asking voters to support a new land conservation bond to replace the recently matured 2004 land conservation bond.

The dinner will be catered by Wild Thyme and with choice of beef, chicken or vegetarian options. Music will be provided as well as wine and beer. 

Ways to contribute to this important Pelican Island Audubon Society initiative:

1. Consider a $1,000.00 sponsorship for the fundraiser. Sponsors will be recognized throughout the evening and will receive two free tickets, a $400.00 value. 

2. Purchase ticket to the event, tickets are $200.00 per person. 

3. Donate an item to the silent auction.  Preferred items include stays and services at local restaurants, spas, hotels, and golfing venues. 

Indian River County is blessed with abundant natural beauty, from our beaches and intercoastal coastal waterway to our working cattle ranches. While these natural areas provide enormous benefit to our quality of life, we are obligated to be proactive with its preservation.

Indian River County is experiencing rapid development growth and we are paving over paradise with more subdivisions and parking lots. Growth may be positive, but only if it is done responsibly and balanced with conservation efforts. Protecting our lands means protecting our waters and our wildlife.

Conserving land allows for the establishment of wildlife corridors for some of Florida' s iconic species, such as the panther and black bear. It also allows for land to absorb water to help replenish our drinking water and to clean water before those waters enter the Indian River Lagoon. The Press Journal has described the Pelican Island Audubon Society as the quality of life defenders for Indian River County for over 50 years.
