2023 Vero Beach Operas

Each season Vero Beach Opera produces fully staged professional opera productions, concerts and international vocal competitions of the highest quality. All performances are at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, located at 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Vero Beach Opera, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1988. All donations are tax-deductible. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from diverse professional backgrounds. Vero Beach Opera relies on funding through direct gifts to the endowment and select programs, sponsorships, membership, playbill advertising and ticket sales. Vero Beach Opera’s corporate sponsor is Tocqueville Asset Management, and season sponsor is Mercedes Benz - Porsche-Audi-of Melbourne. Vero Beach Opera Members enjoy many perks including advance ticket sales, invitiations to social events and after-parties, and special access to artists. Out-of-town Artists stay at the homes of gracious Vero Beach Opera Homestay volunteer hosts, and with hotel partners Caribbean Court, Hampton Inn and Costa d’este.

We support the future of opera locally and around the world. We bring in the best talent from around the world for our lead roles, and we give talented, accomplished local artists the opportunity to perform in our Chorus.

We provide educational and scholarship programs in our local community and beyond:

We have two music education programs for children – our Piano Scholarship Program and our Opera in the Classroom Program – “A Class Act”. For adult education, we collaborate with the Vero Beach Museum of Art to present an Opera Studies Lecture each year. New this season, we are collaborating with the Indian River State College’s Fielden Institute for Lifelong Learning to present a 5-week Opera Studies course.
We cast local children in our operas through our Young Patrons program.
Through our Vocal Scholarship Program, we award cash prizes and encouragement awards to aspiring young opera singers in our Vero Beach Opera Rising Stars Vocal Competition and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Southeast Region & Florida District.
