Delight in Selections from the “Great American Songbook”

03-18-2026

Clap your hands and tap your feet when Pianist Tom Servinsky and vocalist Lisa McCallister come to Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA) to present Selections from the “Great American Songbook”, a musical journey that echoes the creativity and spirit of America. Tickets for the Saturday, April 18, 2026, 3 p.m. performance are now on sale at vbmuseum.org.

The “Great American Songbook” is the canon of some of the most influential American popular songs and jazz standards that emerged during the early 20th century. Often called “American Standards,” the songs of this genre include popular and enduring tunes from the 1920s to the 1960s, including those created for Broadway theatre, musical theatre, and Hollywood musical film.

The performance complements American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection, a nationally touring exhibition that traces the arc of American art from the colonial era through modern day, on view at VBMA through June 7, 2026.

Tickets for Selections from the “Great American Songbook” are $20 per person for VBMA Members, and $25 per person for non-members. Admission to the Museum galleries is included.

“America has always found its voice in song,” remarks VBMA Public Programs Manager Pam Londono. “The ‘Great American Songbook’ lives on because its melodies and stories continue to echo across generations, proving that a truly great song never grows old.”
