HIBISCUS CHILDREN’S CENTER HONORS CHILDREN AT BLUE RIBBON LUNCHEON & FASHION SHOW

To commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month, Hibiscus Children's Center hosted the annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon & Fashion Show “Eyes on Hibiscus” on April 7^th at the lovely Oak Harbor Club in Vero Beach.  This was truly the Spring Affair of the season!  As guests arrived, they were welcomed with a champagne reception and an array of incredible silent auction items to bid on.  The fabulous items included handbags, jewelry, artwork, home décor and much more, there was something for everyone!   This lovely ladies luncheon even featured our gentlemen ambassadors (aka guild member’s husbands) wearing Vernon Scott attire as they helped to welcome our guests.

Over 175 ladies enjoyed a delicious luncheon followed by the raffle drawings which included great prizes for three lucky winners!  The fabulous prizes were:  First prize - “Beauty Gift Basket” donated by Dillard’s, Vero Beach; Second prize - “Get Ready for Summer Package” donated by Preppy Palms of Vero Beach and the Environmental Learning Center; and Third prize - “Sunglasses and Eye Exam” donated by Eye Clinic of Vero Beach.  Stunning Miami models walked the runway during our dazzling Fashion Show that featured looks from Cooper & Co., Frances Brewster, Island Cashmere, J. McLaughlin, Melange, Sara Campbell Ltd., Sassy Boutique and Tendencies.  

Event co-chairs, Henriette Churney and Barbara Rice, and their dedicated committee of volunteers, successfully planned an elegant afternoon that raised critical funds for the youth living at the Hibiscus Village.  Every day, teen’s lives are being transformed through educational and medical services, professional mental health counseling and career preparation and training.  Hibiscus is deeply grateful to our generous sponsors, underwriters and supporters for helping our youth build a stronger and brighter future.  Specials thanks to Premier Luncheon Sponsor - Marie O’Reilly; Carousel Sponsor - Miriam S.
