Hibiscus Children’s Center Hosts Wine & Dine Around the World

Hibiscus Children’s Center was delighted to host over 180 guests on a culinary journey at the "Wine & Dine Around the World" at Grand Harbor Club.   Travelers enjoyed touring the world sampling food and wine without ever leaving Vero Beach!  This exciting evening featured culinary delights with expertly paired wines from several countries in a progressive tasting, from appetizer to dessert.  The event had five delicious food stations featuring California wine with a California Cobb salad, Italian wine with a Giro de Italia pasta station, Spanish wine with Paella de Valencia, Argentinian wine with Argentinian Gaucho Skirt Steak, and a Hawaiian dessert station offering delicious sweets such as a Baked Hawaiian, Mini Chocolate Coconut Bombe, Tropical French Macaroons, and Kona Coffee/Macadamia Nut Brownie Shooters.

The lucky winners of the drawing prizes were thrilled to win these exciting items:  1st Prize - $500 gift certificate for dinner at The Tides, 2nd Prize - Dinner for 4 at Grand Harbor Beach Club, and 3rd Prize - $200 gift certificate for the Ocean Grill.

Co-chairs Carole Casey and Jan Harrell along with their committee of dedicated volunteers, planned and executed a lovely evening that guests will remember while raising critical funds to assist youth in need.  All proceeds from the Wine & Dine event directly support the mission of Hibiscus Children’s Center and its efforts to improve the lives of abused, abandoned and neglected teens living at the Hibiscus Village in Vero Beach.  The Village provides a home environment for teens where they receive nurturing, love and encouragement along with mental health counseling, educational services and career preparation training.
