Hibiscus Children’s Center Thanks Supporters in Martin County

04-05-2022

Hibiscus Children's Center was privileged to host the Martin County Donor Appreciation Luncheon on March 24th at Kyle G’s Prime Seafood & Steaks.  The lovely luncheon was held to thank our generous supporters and together commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month (April).  Special thanks to our luncheon sponsor, Braden & Braden AIA, P.A.   Owner Dan Braden is a founding and current Hibiscus Children's Center Board Member.

Scott Roads, Hibiscus Board of Directors Chairman, welcomed guests and thanked everyone for their wonderful support of the children. Matt Markley, Hibiscus CEO, shared how the donors’ contributions are making a significant difference in the continuum of care for children and families provided through Hibiscus prevention, intervention and recovery programs.   These services include mental health counseling, educational and medical services, career preparation and planning and lots of love and nurturing for children traumatized by abuse.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was viewing the new agency video featuring a former Hibiscus youth who shares how the organization helped to turn his life around and set him on a positive path towards a brighter future.  This remarkable young man bravely shares his moving story, the difficulties he has faced and his aspirations to be a chef.  While living at the Hibiscus Village, he participated in Culinary, a component of the Career Pathways Program, and currently volunteers in this program while working at The Tides Restaurant under the mentorship of Owner/Chef Leanne Kelleher.  Please visit our website to watch the full video and hear this young man’s own words about his incredible journey.

Hibiscus Children's Center is deeply grateful to our supporters for helping to transform the lives of abused children and provide the crucial services needed to overcome the trauma they have endured.  Thank you most of all for helping to provide the love and hope they desperately need.  If you would like more information about Hibiscus Children’s Center, please visit us at HibiscusChildrensCenter.org.
