Impact 100 Indian River Launches Extraordinary Relief & Recovery Fund to Support Storm Victims

10-21-2024

Donations received will be directed to the United Way of Indian River County’s Disaster Response & Recovery Fund, ensuring that 100% of the contributions are used to aid in the community’s recovery from storm damage.

“So many of us were wondering how we could help during these extraordinary times,” said Suzi McCoy Shriner, president of Impact 100 Indian River County. “Members of the board came together, discussed many options, and decided to partner with United Way. We felt they were best equipped to quickly and effectively distribute the donations where they are needed most.”

Additionally, in a remarkable show of generosity, Impact 100 Board members pledged $10,000 toward matching donations within 24 hours of approving the program. As part of the campaign, Impact 100 will match 50% of each donation, up to $10,000, making every contribution even more impactful.

The fundraiser will run through the Impact 100 Season Kickoff event November 20, 2024 at Quail Valley River Club, when the total amount collected will be announced.

"This is the first time Impact 100 has launched a fund drive to support the community beyond the annual $100,000 grants we award to local nonprofits each year," McCoy added. “By coming together, we can help rebuild our community, so everyone has an opportunity to thrive.”
