Indian River County has many options for outdoor activities while maintaining social distance / Knowhere Treasure Coast


The public beaches may be closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but there are many opportunities in Indian River County to enjoy the outdoors – while exercising social distancing.

Have a picnic on the shores of the Indian River Lagoon. Walk, run, or bicycle along miles of scenic trails. Try identifying migrating birds. Or just soak up the sunshine and fresh air.

County Conservation Areas

More than two dozen sites and parcels in the county’s Conservation Lands Program are open to the public, said Wendy Swindell, a project specialist with the program. Guided tours and organized events involving crowds have been canceled, she said, but people are welcome to visit these sites on their own.
