When an LA photographer, named Michael Jackson, asked if he can help H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue, the answer was absolutely!
Michael, who divides his time between LA and Vero Beach, has dedicated his photography skills over these last six months to support H.A.L.O. He has a talent for capturing life’s special moments in a memorable and artistic way. He has combined this talent, along with his passion for animal welfare, by donating his time to help make H.A.L.O. events a success.Michael’s ability to document an animal’s expression, at the perfect moment in time for each photo, is a pleasure to see.
Michael is a full-time Professional Photographer and Explorer of Ideas.
“As far as photography, I love to tell Stories in Single Pictures. Branding and Commercial are great for storytelling. I love shooting Food and taking pictures of animals.”
“My Full-Time endeavor right now and for the foreseeable future is Pet Photography. It's kind of a tribute to my best friend and Border Collie named Cooper. He died and I hadn't taken any real meaningful pictures of him. I don't want that to happen to others.”
Michael, in addition to capturing the image, likes to tellthe stories of people and their relationship with their pets. And he does this very well, as word has gotten around about his amazing dog and owner photos, which are much more than the standard pet portraits. This is a testament to the many owners and their pets who line up at events to have a professional portrait created by Michael J. Pet Photography.
Michael’s latest idea for H.A.L.O. is what we are calling the Pittie Project. There are some great pit bull terriers and Pit Mixes at our shelter in need of a forever home and they are being overlooked. People forget, back in the early 1900’s, the Pits were known as the nanny dog due to their family friendly qualities.
Today, the breed finds itself having survived a life of abuse and neglect with poor media representation and no knowledge of the breeds incredible traits. H.A.L.O. is committed to saving these beautiful, blocky headed companions through education, confidence building, reassurance, structure and love. These pictures Michael takes show the eyes of beautiful souls, ready to give their devotion to families. During the month of December, Michael’s photos of adoptable pits will be showcased in “Home for the Holidays” adoption promotion to adopt this holiday season and experience the unconditional love these dogs have to offer.
When asked why he chooses to support H.A.L.O., "Why do I believe in HALO? That's easy. HALO is a map of what the world could look like if we all took time to selflessly care for others in need."
Thank you, Michael, for not only lending your talents to H.A.L.O. but for being part of the team that believes in no-kill rescue.
