Registration for VBMA Summer Art Camp Opens in March

02-12-2025

Families can soon enroll their budding artists ages 5 to 16 in their choice of weekly themed sessions at the Vero Beach Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp. Museum members may begin registering on March 10; registration opens to the public on March 24.

Summer Art Camp includes time in VBMA’s studios and galleries. Campers, grouped by age, will explore a variety of artmaking techniques, materials, and processes. All supplies are included.

This year’s weekly themes are inspired by the French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950 exhibition, as well as pieces from VBMA’s permanent collection. Throughout the week, campers’ artworks are proudly displayed in the Eggert Children’s Gallery and the Patricia M. Patten Community Gallery.

“Our week-long summer camps combine hands-on activities and museum exploration, sparking creativity and collaboration,” shares VBMA Director of Education Sara Klein. “Students will cultivate their artistic talents and develop new skills under the direction of our amazing teaching artists—in the unique setting only an art museum can provide.”

Weekly Summer Art Camp sessions begin on Monday, June 2. The last session takes place during the week of July 7. There is no class on June 19 (Juneteenth) or July 4 (Independence Day).

Klein reminds parents that sessions sell out quickly and recommends signing up as early as possible.

Register online at vbmuseum.org. Hardcopy registration forms and camp brochures may be picked up at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in late February.
