VBMA Double Portraits Exhibition Featured Programming
09-08-2025The Vero Beach Museum of Art will offer a selection of public programs to complement and enhance the Double Portraits exhibition, on view October 25, 2025, through January 11, 2026.

Museum Studios Family Programming: Seeing Double / 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Free Film Screening: F11 and Be There / 1:30 p.m.
Celebrate the recently opened Double Portraits exhibition with a family-friendly day filled with gallery mini-tours, artmaking, and guided family activities. At 1:30 p.m., head to the Leonhardt Auditorium for a special screening of F11 and Be There, the acclaimed documentary on photographer Burk Uzzle. The film traces Uzzle’s remarkable career, from his days as the youngest photographer ever hired by Life magazine to his ongoing exploration of American identity through the lens of his camera.
Ballet Vero Beach Presents Reflections—Saturday, November 15
Two performances / Noon and 3 p.m.
Movement meets imagery in Reflections, a special Ballet Vero Beach program featuring original choreography inspired by themes of identity and expression found in Double Portraits.
$30 per VBMA and Ballet Vero Beach member; 36 per non-member. Tickets include admission to the galleries.
Art Talk—Wednesday, November 19
Connections, Captured /12–1 p.m.
Join VBMA docents for an in-depth focus on select artworks. Docents will meet registered participants at Visitor Services and then head to the galleries for 45-60 minutes of careful looking and discussion. Free for VBMA members; $12 per nonmember.
Art of the Cocktail—Friday, November 21
Perfect Pearing / 6:30 p.m.
Drawing inspiration from the exhibitions on view, guests will immerse themselves in the evening’s theme through a lively docent-guided tour and by creating a carefully selected cocktail with an expert mixologist. $40 per VBMA member; $50 per non-member.
Photo Walk: Snapshot Photography—December 5
Offsite program, meet on 14th Avenue / 6 p.m.
Meet us on 14th Street for an engaging photo walk led by teaching artist and photographer Kenneth George. This one-hour session will focus on the art of snapshot photography—discovering moments in everyday life, framing compelling images, and practicing observational skills in real time. Participants of all skill levels are welcome; just bring your camera or smartphone.
