1st come, 1st serve basis - no preregistration required but owner must be an Indian River County resident and live in an evacuation zone.  This is considered a last resort option.  Bring the following: current shot records, collar, leash, crate/carrier, litter box (if applicable), food & water (with bowls), medications.  Remember to bring bedding for self and pet. The Humane Society manages this pet friendly shelter, click here for detailed info  Reach the Humane Society at (772) 388-3331, ext 133.

Primary Shelter List -  Here are the 15 shelters in Indian River County that are opened by the Indian River County Emergency Management Division on a rolling schedule.  The Special Needs & the Pet Shelters are first to open but the other shelters aren't opened at the same time.
