Boating is fun. We will show you how!
The Vero Beach Power Squadron, also known as America’s Boating Club, is a boating organization. We are one of the 300+ squadrons of the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) ® and are part of District 8 which covers the East Coast of Florida from Sebastian Inlet to Key West. The website is: verobeachpowersquadron.com .
The VBPS is located at 301 Acacia Road, Vero Beach, FL. and is a non-profit organization. We are a group of numerous volunteers and the action takes place at the squadron building located in Mac Williams Park boat basin on the Indian River. VBPS membership offers an opportunity to make new friends with people who have common interests for boating. You do not need to own a boat to become a member and enjoy the activities.
There is an active paddle group plus Boat Beach-ups for those who want to get out on the water with friends. Also, there are small groups within the squadron, such as the Book Club, Golfing, MahJongg and Birding. In addition we have a very active social calendar with monthly dinners plus our weekly Friday socials from 5:30 to 7:30 throughout the year.
Safe Boating Education
America's Boating Course is given on 5 or 6 Saturdays during the year from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at very reasonable prices. This qualifies for the State of Florida Education Certification Requirements. On the Water Training is also available for VBPS members to improve their boating skills.
Advanced Boating courses are offered to both our members and the public, such as Seamanship/Boat handling, Piloting, Advanced Piloting, Junior Navigation and Navigation
Elective Boating Courses, such as Engine Maintenance, Sailing, Marine Electronics and Marine communications are also available.
Vessel Safety Inspections are offered free to the public upon request.
We provide support to the Boys and Girls Clubs, Youth Sailing Foundation of IRC, Indian River Waterway Clean ups and the Clean Water Coalition of IRC.
