Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic
Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic located in Vero Beach, FL, began in the 1940s to meet the mental health and physical therapy needs of those seeking care. Officially opened in 1953 and designated a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1958, the clinic has served the Treasure Coast community from its original location—a house donated by W.C. Graves. Since then, Sunshine has upheld a tradition of quality, compassion, and professionalism in a friendly, supportive environment.
Therapy Services for Children and Adults
We are committed to providing personalized care tailored to each client’s needs, delivered by highly qualified and compassionate professionals. Sunshine accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Health First, Workers’ Comp, Auto policies, Tricare, self-pay, and uninsured patients. We also accept out-of-network plans including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and select BC/BS HMO plans.
Physical Therapy
Our team treats and helps prevent conditions such as gait and balance impairments, vestibular dysfunction, neurological and orthopedic disorders, developmental delays, torticollis, cerebral palsy, and genetic conditions. We also offer the LSVT BIG protocol for Parkinson’s Disease. Sunshine is proud to be a Vestibular Center of Excellence.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy supports communication, social interaction, and safe swallowing. We address auditory processing disorders, pragmatic impairments, dysphagia, cognitive/language deficits, stuttering, and aphasia. We also offer the LSVT LOUD protocol for Parkinson's Disease.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy improves mobility, communication, sensory integration, and cognition. We treat abnormal muscle tone, stroke and brain injuries, visual motor impairments, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental delays. Our adult team specializes in Vivistim Assisted Therapy for ischemic stroke recovery, Lymphedema Therapy, and LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s Disease.
Sensory Therapy Featuring the Sadlek Sensorium
Sunshine houses one of Florida’s only sensoriums. The Sadlek Sensorium offers vibro-acoustic, visual cues, auditory, and tactile stimuli to help patients regulate sensory input. It supports motor skill developmen and cognitive skills, enhancing therapy outcomes by improving emotional and physical regulation.
Personal Training & Assisted Fitness
Individualized, one-on-one exercise support designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall wellness. Our team creates safe, customized plans to help adults and seniors build confidence, maintain physical health, and move safely at every stage of life.
Community Education and Outreach
Sunshine Traveling Sensorium
Inspired by the success of our in-house Sensorium, the traveling unit brings sensory therapy to those unable to visit the clinic. It serves assisted living facilities, adult day programs, daycares, special events, and other locations that benefit from a calming multi-sensory environment.
Clinic Tours
We offer free tours by appointment for organizations and community members. Visitors can learn about our services and meet our dedicated, friendly team.
