What Should & Shouldn't Be Recycled

The County's solid waste system is an organized dependent special district known as Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) and is responsible for the collection of waste and recycling for the County except the City of Vero Beach. The Solid Waste Division is responsible for collection in the City of Vero Beach.

The purpose of the Refuse Disposal Division under SWDD is to operate five Customer Convenience Centers (CCC's) around the County and transport materials delivered to these centers by county residents to the landfill site for recycling and/or disposal.

Customer Convenient Center Sites:
- Roseland: 7860 130th St, off CR 505, Thursday -Monday, 7am-6pm
- Fellsmere: 12510 CR 512, Friday-Tuesday, 7am-6pm
- Winter Beach: 3955 65th St, Thursday-Monday, 7am-6pm
- Gifford: 4901 41st St, Thursday-Monday, 7am-6pm
- South Vero: 950 1st Pl, Friday-Tuesday, 7am-6pm

The county provides residential curbside recycling collection for residents in Indian River County, Sebastian, Fellsmere, Indian River Shores and Orchid Island. The charge is included in your solid waste assessment to encourage recycling. The bins are the property of Indian River County and should remain with your household if you move.

Curbside recycling collection is provided one day per week everywhere in the county except in Indian River shores where it is collected every other week.

Treasure Coast Refuse (Republic Services) provides curbside recycling pickup in Indian River Shores and can be reached at 772-562-6620. Waste Management provides curbside recycling pick up for all other areas in the county, including the City of Fellsmere, the City of Sebastian, the City of Vero Beach, and the Town of Orchid.
