Indian River Shores is a town on Orchid Island, in Indian River County.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 7.2 square miles, 2.0 square miles of it is water (27.65%).

Town of Indian River Shores is identified with its pristine beaches and controlled growth. It is one of five incorporated municipalities in Indian River, located on the East Coast of Central Florida. The Town's 7 square miles lie along State Road A-1-A between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, adjacent to the City of Vero Beach. 

The Town of Indian River Shores consists primarily of low-density, gated residential communities. Approximately 4,000 year-round residents enjoy our semi-tropical climate, with that figure nearly doubling during the winter months.

Indian River Shores provides its own law enforcement, fire protection and emergency medical services through its well-regarded Public Safety Department. A Postal and Community Center are other services residents and neighbors enjoy.
